Pacific Blue: A female boxer dies after an exhibition match. Cory decides to investigate but the new D.A. whom she is attracted to, is concerned that she might not handle it properly. So he calls T.C. who has depressed ever since Chris left, to come back and he does, which doesn't make Cory happy. She Strickland and Cruz undercover as a boxer and her handler. They discover that the bottle the girl drank from was poisoned and has the fingerprints of Mia St. John on it. They bring her in for questioning and learn that the water bottle is hers and suspect that maybe she was the target. Strickland then meets Joey another boxer who feels that she is being passed over because she is not as attractive as the others. They then learn that Rick who manages Joey was once involved with Mia both personally and professionally. When they try to bring him in he runs away, they manage to catch him, and they grill him about trying to kill Mia but realize that he gave the bottle to the other girl. Cory decides to hang with T.C. and after drinking a lot they spend the night together. Cory leaves the next day and doesn't want to talk to him. Strickland offers to let Rick manage her but on the condition he dump Joey, which he does. Joey then goes up to Strickland and pulls a gun on her, which proves that she tried to kill Mia because she thought that she would have a chance with her out of the way. Cruz and Granger are there to back her. Mia who was also insists that before they take her away that they let them have it out in the ring and they let them and Mia beats her. Cory then decides to throw herself at the D.A. while T.C. implore her to talk with him but brushes him off.
