Little House on the Prairie: A traveling side-show, which is run by Doctor Joshua McQueen, features the "Wild Boy of the North" as its main attraction. Problems ensue when, while the show is passing through Walnut Grove, the Wild Boy (whose real name is Matthew) escapes and seeks refuge with the sweet, caring Jenny Wilder. When Laura and Almanzo find out, they are reluctant to care for the potentially dangerous Matthew themselves--so to prevent the boy from returning to the coldhearted McQueen, Mr. Edwards agrees to secretly take him in. Matthew adjusts well with Mr. Edwards, and it is soon evident that he is no more than a mute child, but a sudden and violent outburst one night helps Doc Baker unveil the truth about McQueen's drug-ridden treatment of Matthew. Meanwhile, McQueen offers Harriet Oleson a $50 reward to find Matthew, and when Nancy learns of the child's whereabouts, it appears that the secret may be unleashed.
