The series is set in the late 21st or early 22nd century, when humankind has reached the stars. Saber Rider is the leader of the Star Sheriffs. The Star Sheriffs are the special operatives of Cavalry Command, they are the law enforcement arm and defense patrol organization out in space, and along the New Frontier.
