Later at headquarters while they are in the shower, Jakes ex-wifes boyfriend, Eric Barnett, stops by. He tells Jake that his ex-wife Clare is dead and that he has a son named Terry. Jake didnt even know that Terry existed. Jake tells Mitch that he has to go to Sydney, Australia and settle things out. Mitch agrees to join him. Therefore, Mitch calls his old friend, Australian lifeguard Kip Kane. Kip is starting a new career as a promoter for sporting events. He wants Mitch and some other lifeguards to enter his first event. Kips first event is an Eco Race between Baywatch and local Australian lifeguards. When they have arrived in Australia, Jessie accompanies Jake to Avalon Bay where Terry is living. The pilot Allie Reese doesnt just work as a lifeguard there, she was also Clares best friend. When a man is in trouble in some rough waves, Jake tries to rescue him. But the waves are too high and he isnt able to swim him to shore. But with the help of a rubber ducky, Allie and another lifeguard are able to pick them up. Terry who has been watching the rescue, is revealed when Jake is brought to safety in the rubber ducky. Jake and Terry become friends immediately. But when Terry overhears Jake and Allie talking about him and Jake moving back to California, Terry gets sad and leaves. Meanwhile, Kip is introducing his team. James "Dugo" Dugan is one of the competitors. He was on the 1996 Olympic swim team. After a small party when Mitch walks back to his room, one of the other competitors named Nicki follows him there. Mitch gains entry to his room and just before it shuts, Nicki uses the card trick to keep it from closing shut.
